ABOUT THE CONCERT / and our mission

The LGBTQ Composers Concert will celebrate the works of LGBTQ classical composers from the past to today. Our mission is simply to provide work and exposure for the musicians while raising money for a cause that is dear to us.

100% of the profits will go to Lost N Found Youth, a non-profit organization which assists homeless youth age 13–25 in stabilizing their lives.

Join us on the evening of December 6th, at the westside’s trendy new Terminus 330, for a cocktail (or craft beer on tap!) and stunning performances by Atlanta-based musicians. A premiere art gallery, silent auction, and entertainment by Chelsea Shag will follow the concert.

CHELSEA SHAG

Stick around after the classical program for Atlanta’s Best Local Mainstream Act of 2016.

At only twenty-four year’s old, Chelsea is reinventing the image of females in the world of music using her complex and unique song writing combined with an equally complex and unique guitar style she’s been developing since the age of 11. She is in full force after the successful launch of her debut album “Colours”, with a sold out show at Paris on Ponce. As described by Immersive Atlanta’s Ben Davidow, “The debut album from Chelsea Shag is as vibrant as its name, filled with swirling horn lines and hip-hop beats that will make your hips weep for joy.” Learn more here.

100% of the net profits collected will be turned over to Lost N Found Youth, an LGBTQ-friendly organization that helps get young people off the streets. The organizers of the LGBTQ Composers Concert are not affiliated with any other non-profit organization. Due to our position as a third-party fundraiser, donations made to the event unfortunately cannot be used for tax refunds.

All profit goes to LNFY

Donations are NOT tax-refundable

All expenses will be made available to the public

Yes— we strongly believe in paying artists for their work, just like all the other vendors we pay to make this event a reality. Providing this opportunity for the artists is the first half of our mission, after all. The singers are compensated (though they deserve much more!) However, some of our artists have opted to perform pro bono, as a form of donation. The visual artists are likewise given the power to choose what percentage of their works' sales they are willing to donate. All expenses will be published on this site for total transparency.
Doors open at 7:30. The classical music program begins at 8pm sharp! At 9pm, Chelsea Shag will take the stage. During this time feel free to grab another cocktail, mingle with the artists, and view the premiere LGBTQ art gallery as we wrap up the silent auction.
